The Barbell Ballerina I’ll follow the video you have on that religiously for awhile 😅 thank you for all the advice!

The Barbell Ballerina it feels just really tight if that makes sense. Like even though I’m balancing, probably the best I ever have, with strength and flexibility it just feels like no matter what I do my back locks up when I reach a certain point. But it didn’t use to do that, and if I “wack it” it doesn’t hurt at all. Just slow controlled movement, and holding it starts to actually hurt. (That’s at 90 degrees even.)

I’ve noticed that in he center definitely, but interestingly enough more so at the barre, that I don’t want to sink into my hip as much. Sometimes when you feel like your holding it for too long you want to sit it in, but I haven’t felt the need to even while holding the barre. My arabesque just seems to be a constant problem though. I don’t know what it is but it feels like it’s getting “worse” any advice? I can offer more detail on that.

My extensions feel more effortless when I stop “only stretching” and focus on “balance ”.

Obviously one think you hear a lot is “if you want high legs you have to stretch”, and you obviously do but that’s not the only component. As a dancer who is hyper mobile and used to be very injury prone, the fact that I could even lift my leg with out the strength I have now is incredible😅. I was heavily reliant on my hyper mobility to get my leg up, and I genuinely thought that was working. But having this training is the best thing I’ve done for myself as a person and dancer. (Also happy birthday✨🫶)

I’m wanting to know the same! I feel a slight stretch in my hamstrings , but not sure about strength activation. Unsure if I’m doing it right😅

I am loving all the days in this split! I’ve added the upper body day from the last split for one day, as well as a core workout I’ve been doing for awhile. Just to keep some extra stuff in.

On a general note of the split, I’ve noticed so much improvement stability already! And with my stretching I do my extension are already improving with the added strength. My arabesque in particular. On an injury note, it’s pretty much the same lol. My ankle stability in the bad foot is sooo much better, and even though I’m still working on gaining the mobility of it back, the strength is amazing. But I have been feeling my abductors and glutes HEAVILY this split. But no complaints from me!

Sooo I totally was gonna take these photos at the gym, then forgot. So i thought after ballet I’ll do it… didn’t do that either. So enjoy these photos from my kitchen well past the time I should be asleep lol. On the actual challenge note, I’m planning on working all three extensions. My PT is actually really excited about this split for me especially with the stability aspects. I figured out a good way to get all three in my schedule without over doing it with my PT schedule.

My arabesque has always been my weakest followed by my devant position. But I’m not gonna slack on my seconde (because even though they look high, they don’t feel effortless at all😅) either way super excited for this for many reasons!

Super excited for this one! Fully cleared by doctor to work out on my foot injury, and I’m SO happy that this split is the one I get to come back too!!!! Can’t wait for tomorrow!

I unfortunately never made it back into the gym given my foot pain actually got worse. But I hope that everyone had an amazing and productive reset course!
