Hello! I’m Vani. It’s so great to be here among all of you in such a supportive community.
I’ve been in performing arts for a long time though I ended up taking a hiatus from dancing for a lengthy period. Also, in the past few years, I had a lot of challenges. In addition to stress and personal losses, I struggled with a back injury relating to my discs in the lower lumbar region and have also had sciatica. The pain it caused me was extremely traumatic. I had to learn how to sit, stand, and walk all over again. But I did recover, so now I’m extra focused on proper form.
My goals are: to build up my flexibility, strength, stamina, and have a strong core. I feel like I lost 90% of flexibility from everything over the past few years. So, I definitely want to stay injury free. I’ve been lifting consistently since fall and winter of 2022 and am hooked, but I’m curious to learn more for improving in dance specifically. I recently came back to ballet last year and am hoping to do well there. Ballet is 🩰special to me. I’m on a dance team at a different studio, and we do many eclectic styles. I want to improve overall and be a better performing artist. I sing and dance and the stamina required to do that simultaneously is something else!
